I am ridicuslously looking forward to tonight, when I shall be journeying to Brighton to see Portico Quartet play for the last night of their UK tour. I first saw these guys play at The Big Chill last year and I have been inspired by them ever since. Seeing them live is like being transported to a faraway land, as they combine world-music rhythms with hauntingly beautiful melodies. They're individually outstanding musicians and when they come together it's a sonic treat like no other!
