I first saw the Golden Silvers playing at The Macbeth in Hoxton early last year and I was totally blown away by their sound. They're an extremely talented trio of musicians making infectiously good songs. They've been busy touring and recording but yesterday saw the release of their debut album 'True Romance'. It's brilliant. Get tickets to see them live whenever you have the chance. http://www.myspace.com/thegoldensilvers
Yesterday saw London's monthly music night Communion relocated to the seaside, with its launch at the beautiful Hanbury Ballroom in Brighton. The musical acts all delivered astounding performances and Mr Beans teared the house down with his witty lyrics and strumming. A memorable night was had by all!
I haven't seen The Kooks play a full band for a few years and it was great to hear Luke and the guys drive the audience wild with their catchy songs and driving guitars. We had some fun backstage in a bubblegum pink 60's trailer (allegedly once used by Dolly Parton).
I'm not one to turn down the opportunity for a road-trip, so when I was invited to join The Peeps on their journey to Leamington Spa for a gig supporting The Kooks, I was quick to accept. The Lady and gents performed a roaring gig with lots of catchy basslines and soulful tones from Charlotte Michelle Bernadout.
I met Nat at midnight in a dark alley behind a KFC before hot-footing it to small warehouse space in a disused school yard a friend was temporarily renting. He needed some promo shots for his debut album and Myspace page.
When I descend into the dark, candlelit caves of Oliver's, it's like entering a hidden world. I work here several nights a week, but I'd hardly call it work when I get to listen to live music ranging from jazz to blues to folk each night, tackle crosswords with punters, and witness such fascinating human interactions I'm already working on the book! If you want to experience a truly different night out, come to Olivers in Greenwich.

Listening to: 'Drop me Off in Harlem' - Duke Ellington
I was lucky enough to be asked to come and take photographs of the Elizabeth Fry Refuge in Hackney when it was open to the public for a one-day installation organised by Ella Medley-Whitfield.
I was fortunte enough to be put in contact with Mr Iain Woods with a view to take some pictures for him. Although he had sent me a demo of some tracks he made for his degree show in Fine Art ad Sculpture, nothing prepared me for his harrowing performance at a gallery opening in Battersea. His voice sent shivers down my spine, but then the heavy bassline had me stomping like the good ole days at Fabric! His on-stage antics wowed the crowd and his penchant for jumpsuits makes me love him even more! http://www.myspace.com/iainwoods
My right to protest came into question this week, after I was penned in at Monument during the G20 march. With no where to buy drinks on a hot day (and no where to use the loo!), it looked like things could get desperate... Despite what the media picked up on, what I saw of the march were people peacefully voicing their concerns, through signs, costume, dance, music and debates.
